HP White Laboratory Launches H.P.T.V. – Online, Remote Test Monitoring

Baltimore, MD – HP White Laboratory, Inc., an Intertek company and the world’s largest independent test laboratory of armor and ballistics, announces the launch of H.P.T.V. (www.hpwhite.com/HPTV), for online, remote viewing of ballistics testing. Through secure and password-protected online sessions, H.P.T.V. provides customers with two live camera views of in-progress testing. What’s more, with voice over IP (VOIP) communications, customers may interact with HP White experts as if they were in the room. H.P.T.V. replaces the need for costly and time consuming onsite test witnessing.

“H.P.T.V. addresses critical needs in ballistics and ballistics resistance testing; customers need to reduce costs and make best use of every precious hour in a day,” said Mike Parker, president, HP White Laboratory. “If a customer can avoid flight time, out-of-office time, and all the expenses to witness a two-hour test, then we’ve brought value to the relationship. Beyond that, if our customer can show their customer live testing at HP White with just a point and click, we’ve not only added value, we’ve supported our customer’s success.”

H.P.T.V. provides the following benefits of remote witnessing.

  • See two camera views of ballistic impacts and measurements as they occur,
  • Witness testing via secure, password protected sessions,
  • Use VOIP to communicate with HP White experts,
  • See data capture as it happens*, and
  • Realize significant time and cost savings.

The H.P.T.V. service is offered with two options:

  1. Witness Testing: Observe testing from project set-up through data collection, with close-ups on strike face and back face; and
  2. Direct (R&D) Testing: Direct activities on the range with real time communications with test technicians

“For over 75 years HP White has been evaluating armor performance for military and public safety applications,” said Parker. “All the while, it’s very important for armor producers and those supporting the manufacturer to be able to see ballistic performance as it happens. In our business, seeing is believing. And HPTV allows clients to see performance testing from anywhere in the world. ”
