On the 48th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, National Geographic with the support of author and historian Max Holland aired a documentary that catalogues the three bullets allegedly fired at the president on that fateful day. In question was the first shot, which was not captured by the Zapruder film. The National Geographic documentary theorizes that the first bullet was deflected by a traffic signal. Holland conducted testing at HP White on similar traffic signals to determine if in fact the obstruction could have deflected the first bullet. Holland’s full report can be read at www.washingtondecoded.com. The Hardball clip features Holland and Chris Matthews referencing not only the traffic signal theory, but also the HP White work done for CBS News in 1967.
